Their first game took place on Saturday as they travelled to East Glendalough School where they took on Wicklow 1st in what has become an always-entertaining local derby game. This occasion was no different as the teams went head to head with both teams starting strong with a fast paced game. Wicklow scored the only goal of the game about 15 minutes into the game. The visitors came close to scoring an equalizer with a shot from Roy Chapman that sailed just over the cross bar. The game ended with the home side winning 1-0.
Enniscorthy determined to make up for loosing against Wicklow on Saturday were ready for the visiting Avoca in their final game of the league that took place on Sunday last. Again both teams started strong, however, on this occasion Enniscorthy were playing much better than they had against Wicklow and chances for both teams were plentiful but the defence on both side were able to deal with the attacks of their opposition. The home side came close to scoring, in particular shots from John McWey and Roy Chapman. The ball was moved well by both sides and troubled each other but it stayed goalless at half time. It was mid way through the second half before the deadlock was broken when a ball across the home sides circle was met by a Avoca stick that sent the ball out of reach of ‘keeper Graham Hill. Enniscorthy pushed forward and came close to scoring an equaliser but were unable to get it passed the Avoca ‘keeper. It all ended with an improved performance from Enniscorthy but with an Avoca win.
