Last Sunday in Enniscorthy Astro our 1st year girls had their first full pitch match against Abbeyliex in not ideal weather conditions but non the less rose to the occasion very well and came away with a great result of 3-0 in their favour.
We had three 15min quarters and even though this was only a friendly game there was no resting on their laurels and got use to the space they had very quickly and ten mins in with a pass from Ciara Kelly to Aoife Mahon in the circle Aoife put Enniscorthy one goal up.
We had four subs today so it was a roll on roll off system and with Agata and
Grace having their first game they both got on very well. With Norah making her debut in the goal she handled anything that came near her with ease, Norah's job was made all the easier with a great performance from Eabha Farrell as sweeper who did not let much by her. Lettie, Anna and Gilly had the back line well under control and with Caoimhe, Ciara, Aoife and Niamh doing lots of running in mid field and feeding of the ball forward Rebecca, Martha, Eimer D and Emer Bowe
The second goal came from Eimer Doyle who had a great game out on the right wing carrying it into the circle and pushing the score up to two.
With Ciara K moving back to mid field and Martha into the forwards and a lovely pass from Eimer D to Martha she put it pass the keeper to make the final score 3-0.
This was a great start and these girls should be really happy with there performance today.
