Some of our U12 girls took part in a great hockey in a blitz on Sunday last against teams from Waterford and Kilkenny. Enniscorthy played with great skill and determination, it was clear to see that our great club is a force to be reckoned with!

Enniscorthy U14 boys travelled to Dublin to take on Three Rock Rovers in the penultimate group game last Sunday. After a tough game they returned home with a scoreboard showing 1-1. As can be seen from the photo the conditions were not what you would call ideal for a good game of hockey, but, our boys really played well up against a strong opposition, Three Rock Rovers went ahead after 15 minutes into the first half and Enniscorthy came back to level it with a pass from Peter through to Charlie who put it away. Trying to keep warm the second half consisted of end-to-end hockey with some great play by Glen in goal, Peter in defence and Seb, Aodan and Pearse in midfield. Unfortunately, neither side could add another goal and the game finished all square. This result leaves them still in second place in this group with one game to play against Wicklow. The boys have really come along way this year and should be very pleased with themselves. We would also like to thank Roy Chapman for traveling with our U14s. Enniscorthy Players: Glen Rothwell (goalie); Seb Rynhart; Jack Doran; Harry Somers; Pearse Rogan; Aodan OLeary; Peter Yaciuk O'Connor; Jake English; Charlie Dunne; Gavin Cousins; Conor O'Brien; Nicholas Colfer Absent: Ronan O'Leary; Samuel Veitch. Enniscorthy U14 boys secured a 4-2 victory at home last Sunday against Railway Union in the Boys U14 Leinster league.
A tough first 20 minutes for the home side saw them trailing by 2 goals. However a couple of changes of position by coach Fraser Rothwell turned the game around and saw the first half finishing 2-1. A very confident Enniscorthy team dominated the second half with multiple shots on goal resulting in three great scores. An outstanding performance from all members of the Enniscorthy team. Final score 4-2 (Enniscorthy scorers: Charlie, Ronan, Pearse & Peter) Enniscorthy U10 boys hosted a blitz on Sunday 22nd February at Astro Active Centre Enniscorthy. Despite the very wet and windy weather, there was a wonderful attendance of enthusiastic determined young boys all coming for a great game of hockey and the hope of scoring a goal or two.
For the spectators huddled under the umbrellas, there was a great display of newly acquired hockey skills with plenty of goals scored. We were delighted to welcome teams from Corinthians, Monkstown, Avoca, Waterford and Wicklow. A big thank you to all who travelled despite the weather.
