The difference between the two sides came mid-way through the first half, as the Meath men punished the hosts from a short corner in one of their few chances of the game.
The second period saw Enniscorthy dominate proceedings in the teeming rain but were unable to seriously threaten the Navan goal. Eamon Sweeney and William Durnan produced the Slaneysiders best chances of the game, and there were some positive attacking performances from Alan Smith, Jonathon Rothwell and Mick Jordan.
