Leinster U14 Boys' Hockey League AstroActive, Bellefield Enniscorthy 0, Dublin YMCA 2 (Alex Wall, Ben O'Grady) An historic first but no points for Enniscorthy as the under 14's staged the club's first competitive under age Leinster fixture on Sunday, December 14. The visitors from YMCA, older and more experienced, took the win with a goal in either half but were let know that they had been in a match. Enniscorthy were competitive in every sector against a side that featured under 16 interprovincial star Ben O'Grady. He was well policed throughout by Peter Yaciuk O'Connor and only slipped his marker once, to score the second goal of the afternoon. Home side heroes included goalie Glen Rothwell, who was given great cover by the centre back pairing of Harry Somers and Pearse Rogan. Seb Rynhart was outstanding in a largely defensive midfield role and a few swift late breaks made Ronan O'Leary the pick of the forwards. One loss and one victory (against Weston) to their credit, the side is intent on making the top three in the division when they resume after Christmas.
