The home side started strong with some clever attacking passages using both wings. An experienced Genesis defensive line denied the Enniscorthy attack which resulted in a quick turnaround of play, Genesis sweeping up the field to record their first goal. Enniscorthy came under fierce pressure in the following 10 minutes with 3 penalty corners awarded against the home side. Excellent work by a cool and collected Enniscorthy defensive line at the penalty corners - with particularly brave play by first runner Eleanor Bolger – helping to keep Genesis at bay. Laura Redmond remained a continuous force in the first half with some great attacks and strong passages of play up the wing. The first five minutes in the second half saw the strong Genesis forward trio score another goal. The home side took a while to get back in the game which resulted in another Genesis goal. Three goals down, the home side fought back hard and kept play up high but again the Dublin side's hard-working defence shut down Enniscorthy's attack. The second half had excellent plays from Scorthy players, especially the the back line with particular strong passages of play by Muireann Nic Corcráin. Time ticking, Hickey received a great pass from Bolger which resulted in another excellent pass by Redmond into the circle which was missed by Hayes. Neville in goal made a number of outstanding saves to keep the Dublin side at bay throughout but ultimately the experienced opposition prevailed on a 4-0 scoreline.
