Enniscorthy travelled in force to the Wicklow under 12 boys' blitz on Sunday last. Coaches Roy Chapman and David Medcalf had 16 players at their disposal for the outing on the rain lashed astro in Glendalough School. The squad was divided into two teams of eight each - the Eagles and the Emeralds - with both playing three matches. The Emeralds took the bragging rights with a 100 per cent record, chalking up wins over Bray, Monkstown and Gorey. The Eagles lost a tense battle with Monkstown, in which goalie Adam Hill was beaten by one shot. Tadgh English and Niall Kehoe bagged a couple of hat-tricks as the side had the better of both Wicklow and Gorey, with three other players also on the mark.
