While we might not have hockey games for another while yet, this weekend sees the Olympics in Tokyo kick off, so we will have some live sport on our screens this weekend! Enniscorthy Hockey Club are running a Club fundraiser, following the Women’s Hockey Team and a great prize for 5 lucky winners! Predict the winner of each of the fixtures and how many goals are scored to be in with a chance to win big!

Here’s how it works!

1. Follow the Splink link and pay a once-off €5 charge (plus 0.41c Splink handling fee) for the entire competition. Please note you must be 18 years or older to enter. https://mysplink.com/ehcfundraise/hockeyolympics
2. Once you enter and pay, don’t forget to fill out predictions and submit. Predictions are to be submitted before push-back of first game in each round. Predictions should include who you think will win the game or if there is a draw, along with how many goals you think each team will score!
3. After all the games have been played, a leaderboard will be shared on our social media channels, so you can keep up to date with who is in with a chance to win the cash prize!
4. Once the tournament is over, the prize money will be split in half, with half of the pot divided among the overall winner and the 4 round winners and the other half going to the club.

The scoring system:

1. Predict the correct number of goals by each team = 3 points.
2. Predict the winner = 2 points.
3. Predict a draw = 1 point per team (2 points).
4. Max score if you correctly predict goals and winner correct for each game is 8 points.
5. Prizes go to the person with the most accumulated points at the end of the tournament and to the person with the most accumulated points in each round.
6. All players will be notified of table standings.

Other rules to be aware of:

1. If there is a tie for most points at end of a round, 1 winner will be picked using the tie breaker.
2. If there is a tie for most accumulated points at end of tournament, 1 winner will be picked using tie breaker.
3. If no goal is scored, the time closest to the first short corner will be used.
