Despite the scoreline, it wasn't all plain sailing for the Slaneysiders, with Laura Smith and Julie Watchorn called upon to keep the Bulls from penetrating the Enniscorthy defence early in the first half. Up the pitch Olive Lett and Leah Chapman provided plenty of possession for forwards Sweeney, O'Leary and Flood. May Wickham came close from a long corner effort before Chapman opened the scoring from the second penalty corner awarded to the hosts in the first half.
The second half saw Laura Smith becoming increasingly influential, with Lauras Bailey and Hannah Graham benefiting from her quick and accurate passing. In the ebb and flow of the game, Clontarf had their bright points, winning two penalty corners but Enniscorthy were the side to capitalise, Leah Chapman scoring her fifth league goal of the season . Anna Flood almost made it 3-0 just before the end following a through ball by Laura O'Leary; finding herself alone against the Clontarf 'keeper, Flood was unlucky to find the post.
