The season starts here for the men of Enniscorthy Hockey Club. Nine other teams- from Navan, St. Brendans Phoenix Park, Trinity College, Pembroke Wanderers, Corinthians, North Kildare, Clontarf, YMCA and Bray- will be vying for promotion to Leinster's seventh tier.
A long road lies ahead: beginning at home to Navan on October 5th, and finishing on March 29th away to Pembroke. For the new team on the block, hopes are high for a good run in both league and cup. Corkman Cathal Ó Suilleabhain brings experience from division two while players such as Roy and Glen Chapman, Keith Ogilvie and Robbie Walshe return to playing at the Astro Active Centre, having previously lined out with now- defunct South East Wanderers. Jonathan Rothwell, Niall Maguire and John Casey are just some of those emerging from club youth ranks, while Andrew Rothwell and Kieran Costello return to the sport having had previous experience at schools level.
